Santa Clara

Santa Clara is a young city because of the many students. Here is the third largest university in the country. The city was already founded in 1689 by the residents of Remidios because of the many pirate attacks. However, Santa Clara is truly famous all over the world as the remains of Che Guevara rest in the mausoleum. On 29th December 1958 Che conquered Santa Clara with his troops and helped the Cuban Revolution to their final victory. Today about 240,000 people live in Santa Clara.
