Cienfuegos

Cienfuegos literally means hundred fires. The city is also the capital of the province of the same name on the Caribbean coast, about 250 km away from Havana. Cienfuegos is also referred to as "Perla del sur" (Pearl of the South), and this not for no reason. The city is considered to be one of the cleanest one in Cuba and awaits you with numerous architectural masterpieces. Cienfuegos is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Cienfuegos is the sixth largest city in Cuba and is the capital of the province of Cienfuegos. The city is located on the bay of Cienfuegos on the Caribbean side of Cuba. Currently about 170,000 inhabitants live in the city. Cienfuegos is located about 80 kilometers west of Trinidad and is reachable by car in an hour and by bus in 1.5 hours.
